Hey GLUs! Welcome back to The Clique Book Club! This week we’re wrapping on the set of DIAL L FOR LOSER. Massie Block’s antics are more vicious than ever. Let’s catch up.
Kuh-laire has booked the lead role in the new teen smash “Dial L for Loser”, and needless to say Massie and Alicia are NOT pleased with Claire’s newfound stardom. She’s being adorned with free clothes, trailers, and on set kisses from teen heartthrob Conner Foley. But as always, MB has a plan.
Massie and Alicia are corresponding for The Daily Grind every morning on set. One morning they break into Kuh-laire’s trailer and stage trash from the pharmacy everywhere. Pepto Bismol, women’s Rogaine, facial bleach for an unwanted mustache, and more humiliating remedies, if you can believe it. As if that wasn’t enough, Massie also sends Cam a photo of Claire and Conner kissing. Karma finally kicks in when Massie and Alicia are featured poolside at Conner’s in US Weekly. Alicia has snot coming out of her nose, and Massie is picking a wedgie. To say it was an unflattering paparazzi moment would be an understatement.
The movie wraps, and the girls head back to Westchester. Dylan and Kristen have not only convinced Principal Burns to let TPC back into OCD. They’ve also thrown a surprise party to celebrate Dial L! Cam shows up and forgives Claire for doing her job and kissing Conner. All the OCD girls are FREAKING OUT that Massie and Alicia were at Conner’s house… booger girl and wedgie picker, who?
All is right in the world… UNTIL.
Claire gets a phone call from a big fancy agent in LA. He saw footage from Dial L and wants to make Kuh-laire a bona fide STAR. But what about Cam? What about the Pretty Committee? OCD? Let’s discuss.
Massie’s on set antics were next level cruel, even for her. Was she more so hurt by Claire making fancy new Hollywood friends and leaving her in the dust? Or were the acts of meanness out of pure jealousy over the stardom and new designer wardrobe?
Claire loved acting on set of Dial L, and as a requirement to get back into OCD the girls have to participate in extracurriculars. Is Claire going to take her acting skills to the drama club? Or will being called an LBR hold her back from pursuing this performance bug that’s bitten her?
Claire’s been consistently tortured by the Pretty Committee, there’s always drama at OCD, she and Cam have now broken up twice. Why wouldn’t she be so excited at the prospect of moving to LA and becoming a star? What’s keeping her in Westchester?
Next week, we start “It’s Not Easy Being Mean”
LFG (Let’s F-ing Gossip)!

1. When I re-reading the books and got to this one, I was horrified with Massie for embarrassing Kuh-laire like that, I get that given her age she might not fully understand the consequences of her actions but I felt this crossed a line. If Kuh-laire did this or even something half as bad, Massie would not forgive her. If I was Kuh-laire’s mom I wouldn’t want my daughter continuing a friendship with someone like that, too toxic 😬 I get being the bigger person and forgiving her but I didn’t agree with her apologizing to Massie & Alicia at the end of the book. TBH I would have ended or seriously considered ending the friendship with her over this
Massie was more jealous of Claire getting the attention that she was used to having. Claire didn’t even get to enjoy her 5 seconds because she was dealing with all of Massie’s antics! I think it put her off acting in general, which is sad because she could have been the ultimate theater kid back at OCD. Her social standing in the Clique meant more than her social standing in Hollywood. I agree with Jess, these were some of Massie's worst moments!
