So I’m not going to write a scene (so sorry) but I do want to predict what each PC member did after high school - just college!!

Massie - She definitely had her sights set on an Ivy, but it didn’t seem like she kept up with grades that much, and even with the pull of her dad, chose to go to college overseas. What’s more chic than college in Paris and summers in the Hamptons? She majored in fashion merchandising and business and was cut throat, gaining internships at top fashion houses, not paying attention to boys or outside noise. She aimed to be the best, and she was.

Claire - Her mind was pulling her to Florida but her heart was keeping her in the Northeast (Cam, ahbviously). She wanted a big college experience and aimed for a state school. She attended University of North Carolina (she felt it was the best of both worlds) and majored in mass communications and minoring in theater, missing Hollywood just a little bit.

Alicia - Her true alpha shined in college. Her dream of becoming a famous anchorwoman was going to come true with the help of a top journalism school in the country - Columbia. Prestigious, New York, Ivy, and close to many a dance school to join in. She craved more leadership and joined a sorority, eventually running recruitment and becoming president (making Massie scoff at people who “pay for their friends).

Kristen - You didn’t think she’d go to college without a scholarship did you? She attended Penn State with a full ride for academics and athletics. She played on the soccer team and absolutely dominated (on the field and off). She thrived being in her own element without someone telling her what to do 24/7. She studied biology - not quite sure what kind of doctor she wanted to be.

Dylan - West coast, best coast (to Dylan, not to anyone else). Dylan was born for LA and attended UCLA. She was a gen ed major, but documented all of her life on social media, eventually winning the hearts of hundreds of thousands (and thanks to plugs by her mother), left college to be a full time influencer. People loved her charm, realness, outfits for “average sized” girls, recipes, travels. Was Massie jealous? Maybe! Dylan’s hair doesn’t care.

POV: Alicia Rivera

Location: Vanderbilt Hall

Alicia tapped her Pilot G2 against a yellow legal pad in time with the second hand on the lecture hall’s clock. Intro to Negotiations was an easy class: anyone who spent seventh and eighth grade being friends with Massie Block was going to ace it. The Pretty Committee could teach this class.

Alicia moved to text that very thought to her middle school friends, but a wave of dread made her drop the phone back into the depths of her Goyard tote. If she got the group text going, the girls would inevitably ask her about NYU and what was she going to say?

“My roommate is a total LBR, frat boys keep staring at my boobs, and even though it’s only the first week of classes, I have yet to find a good group of friends?”

She filed the witty text away in her brain for when she had something positive about college to report. She couldn’t let her old friends think she was losing her alpha-touch.

Class dismissed, and Alicia cut across Washington Square Park to her next one. She reminded herself to stay positive; each step she took was, literally, one step closer to her future. Pre-law and journalism double major at NYU, dance minor just for fun. Then, law school at a T-14. Work at her father’s firm until she made junior partner, and then legal correspondent for a major news network.

Alicia inhaled the scent of recently waxed hardwood as she waited outside one of the campus’ dance studios. Alicia wanted to bottle the scent and take it with her back to her dorm: it smelled like her dance studio back in Westchester. NYU wasn’t far from home, but it felt like a whole different world. If Diptique made a Body Alive Dance Studio candle, Alicia would be their best customer.

The studio’s frosted glass doors opened. Gossiping, giggling girls spilled out from the earlier class. Alicia’s abs tightened with a pang of jealousy. She was impatient for a new friend group to help make college the “best four years of her life.”

“Ah-leesha?”

“Speak of the devil...” Alicia thought as her heart leapt at the familiar voice.

“Welcome to NYU!” Body Alive’s nepo baby, Skye Hamilton, detached herself from a group of too-thin girls.

A wave of relief washed away Alicia’s homesickness as Skye tossed her toned arms around Alicia.

“I’m throwing my annual Welcome Week party on Friday, you have to come,” Skye’s Tiffany-box-blue eyes flashed toward her group of friends, as if she was worried that they were going to leave without her, “I’ll text you my address,” she bounced back to the girls who had paused to wait.

Alicia pulled out her phone as she stepped into Intermediate Jazz, another easy-A, and typed up her joke from earlier. She hit sent to the group text with her middle school friends. Now, she could say she was going to her first college party on Friday night when they asked about NYU.
