Title: Pink Dress, Red Flags

Claire sighed, rolling her bright blue eyes that were dusted with a shimmery champagne shadow and lined with a smoky black kohl. If she had to listen to her date, Collin McOwen, blab any longer about his recent score in whatever video game he and his friends were currently into, she would combust into flames at the table.

It was her senior prom night, and as of yet, not one part of it had gone according to plan. Her teal sequined mermaid style formal gown had come in late - try morning-of-prom late, thanks for nothing UPS!, her champagne strappy heels came with a giant scratch in the patent leather and her favorite white gold and pearl bracelet that was a birthday gift from Massie was nowhere to be found, leaving Claire no choice but to default to a sterling silver heart shaped charm bracelet her ex Florida friends gifted her during her first Christmas in Westchester.

Whenever Claire got emotional or flustered, she tried to think of what Massie would do in the same situation. While not physically close, her and the alpha still spoke on a weekly basis. Dialing up her inner M for Massie, Claire sat up in her chair and fluffed her hair before touching up her lip gloss and standing. While Connor was cute and one of the lead senior stars of the Briarwood ice hockey team,

Claire couldn't pretend that she cared about his conversation any longer.

The DJ’s next song, Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer, began to bounce through the speakers on the dance floor. After a round of Kendrick Lamar, she was desperate for some fun pop music and a cute boy on her arm.

“I want to dance,” she bent down to whisper in his ear. “Are you actually going to join me, or should I ask Layne for a dance partner?”

“Coming!” He nodded, gulping what was left of his soda before standing and straightening his jacket. He knew he promised her a night of dancing like she's always wanted, and given how many things had gone wrong for her so far, Collin refused to add to that running list.

The pair made their way to the dance floor and ended up situated beside Strawberry and her date, Jackson Reed. Jackson was a stocky and buff linebacker for Briarwood’s football team and seemed to be the only guy in their grade who could hold their own against Strawberry’s anger issues.

As Claire and her date began to sway to the music, she leaned her head against his suit jacket and let her eyes wander around them. In one more week, she'd probably never see these faces again. After graduation, Claire was set to move to Manhattan for a summer of working part time jobs until her first college semester in the fall. She already had a slummy apartment lined up with another young girl fresh out of high school.

Her eyes drifted over the girls she'd spent her last years surrounded by and got hit with a pang of sadness at the thought of how things are just ending. That sadness, however, was no match for the sharp stab she felt when she caught eyes on Cam Fisher and his date on the dance floor. Her ex boyfriend of four months had moved on quickly, finding comfort in the form of a 5’6 brunette with pin straight hair, blunt bangs and pouty pink lips.

Cam was her first true crush, her first kiss, her first heartbreak and even more. He always swore he'd never go to prom, even when they were still together. He thought it was a waste of time and just another excuse for girls to dress up and fight with their boyfriends. Seeing him sway with this mystery girl in a light pink satin mini bodycon dress, it seems he changed his mind.

Title: the dress and the after party

Of course, I had to have the most fabulous dress, so dad arranged for Cotoutre designer from Barcelona to actually make my dress. Of course.Mommy, having been in the business forever, took my measurements and sent them with seam allowance.

Of course. It turned out to be gold with these lovely sequin appliques, burnt orange totally gorgeous and probably a dress I want to get buried in. No I'm officially at the greatest after party of all time. It's me, my friends from the studio, specifically and my date his name is James Remington, he's a sophomore polli sci major of course, mom and dad have already met him and the girls are freaking the hell out. How in the hell did I manage to bring a college sophomore to prom? I simply told him I had an event coming up and it would mean a lot to me. If he came and he showed up with a corsage and my favorite sangria, which I didn't ask for but thank you anyway. Now i'm just trying to make sure I don't get completely dizzy, but this has officially been the best prom ever.Aside from what looked like someone trying to get their tongue down my date's throat behind the ice sculpture. let's just say her head might have ended up in the punch bowl temporarily.
