1. I hope this decision is not part of my future because it would be so difficult to decide! On one hand, it would be ah-mazing for my daughter to have an opportunity to be in a movie. On the other hand, would she understand the consequences of her actions if I reward her with a trip to LA and a movie role? My parents would never have support it but I would want to do it soooo badly if I was a kid again. 😆
2. I would tell her to not act too cool and that in order to actually play a part, she has to be in it 100% instead of being blasé about it. Good actors are good because they don’t let their ego play a part. Massie should’ve set aside her Queen B status and really go for the audition. And hey, at least we know she can memorize the script! I think she has potential.
3. I DEFINITELY think Massie is best suited for fame. I would have casted her for the role. I can see her either thriving in the Hollywood scene or being humbled very quickly by the expectations and culture. 😅
1) My parents would absolutely stand firm, but I’d like to think I would give my kid a shot at this crazy chance. But like Kendal said, maybe that’s me thinking from my ex-teen brain who would absolutely be begging to go to LA 😅
2) Massie is the queen of faking. One of my favorite Massie-isms is when she stands in front of a mirror and counts down in her head before she goes out to an event or an important social situation. She’s always putting on an act to an extent, so I would tell her to channel the confidence she so often fakes. I think she also needs to realize the character she’s playing is not herself, so she can actually have a shot at getting a role as an LBR!
3) I think Claire was perfect for the role acting-wise, but she wasn’t ready to be a star. Someone like Alicia may be able to better balance being an actress and dealing with all the fame that comes with that.
3. Among the non-Claire members of the PC, I think Dylan is the best choice for the role of Molly. Dylan has some personal experience with fame through her mother, is consistently shown to have insecurities regarding her weight, and doesn't have a high ranking position in her clique.
Also, perhaps the movie wouldn't have failed if Merri-Lee had helped market it? A solid box office haul opens the doors for a movie trilogy and a series of middle-grade spinoff books called "The Crowd" or something.
Outside the PC, I think Rachel Walker is a good choice, assuming that she'd even want to star in a movie. Rachel has strong people skills in the Witty Committee and faces a high level of social pressure in My Little Phony. Like Claire, she'd draw strongly from her own life experiences for the audition.
Layne seems "too weird" to be Molly. There's nothing wrong with the Layne's oddball nature, but I got the impression that Rupert is looking for a more conventional character type (nothing wrong with that either…), with an emphasis on an authentic awkwardness over a confident weirdness, which is why Claire fit the bill so quickly.
1. It's so hard to say! I think it's.hard to look an incredible opportunity in the face and say no to it. Even if your as rich as the Blocks, opportunities like this don't come around every single day! I think I would allow my children to do the movie in hopes that it would expand their worldview and realize there is so much more to life than OCD! Also, can we talk about how the expulsion was maybe a little extreme here Professor Burns!!
2. If I was Massie's acting coach, I would tell her to just be her true self, which we all know is maybe a little less cool than she'd like to admit. All my favorite actors are a little quirky though, and that is what makes them so unique and lovable! I think it's nice that Massie has Claire to relay on, she is really the only friend she can truly be herself with.
3. I think both Claire & Massie are well suited for the role! Massie rarely cracks under pressure and if she does, it is behind closed doors. Claire would also be good for the role because she has a certain self confidence that the other girls do not possess yet. Alicia is a little too shallow, Dylan is WAY too insecure, and Kristen's parents would simply never allow it. Now Tiny Nathan on the other hand......
