I dress for myself. Seeing a fashionable item I want to buy gives me something to look forward to and makes an experience better and makes me feel special. ❄️ When I feel better about myself, I can enjoy experiences more. It is kind of weird that Massie gave lessons on how to kiss when she hadn't kissed Derrington yet lol! 🫎 I think Alicia is motivated by insecurity because of how Josh is paying more attention to Claire than her and that it's important to not let guys get between friendships! ❤️🩹
It's totally a threat to Massie's reputation that stings more to her in this book than a cold shoulder from the hottest soccer player does. I will always be team M&D and unrequited love lol but it's interesting to see how she'd risk her first crush for the chance to stay in the top of everyone's social stratosphere. (Now compare this to the Landon dog leash kiss and the character growth is in-sane!)
1. Massie’s reputation is everything to her, but she still does want people to like and respect her. So while she is embarrassed and angry with Derrington, she’s also hurt. I mean, he was her first almost-kiss!
2. Alicia is so real for this one, and I love her for it. The girl knows what she wants and won’t give up until it’s hers! The attention of the person you really want definitely outweighs the other adoring fans that may come your way.
3. The girls are definitely dressing for each other but in guise of getting the boys attention. Like we see in Sealed with a Diss, the boys could care less about all the extra stuff the girls do to try to get their attention. I think we should only really dress for ourselves, but we definitely consider other’s opinions (especially if it’s for an event)!

Alicia is scared of losing Josh to Claire. Seeing a fashionable out or just putting one together helps me look forward to my day. ✨️
